Managed SEO eCommerce Client Increases Keywords +764%

In April 2020, e-commerce retail orders increased by 129% yearly in the United States and Canada. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that we are approaching a new e-commerce age.

Customers are increasingly appreciating the simplicity and convenience of purchasing online. This tendency, along with the COVID-19 pandemic, has resulted in explosive development in the e-commerce world.

If you have an online store or plan to create one, you should consider your SEO strategy carefully. A strong plan might put you on Google’s top page and deliver thousands of new visitors to your site every day.

Please continue reading to find out how we assisted an e-commerce business in increasing its ranking keywords by 764% and bringing in around 1,000 monthly website traffic.

Background

At the end of 2019, a specialized e-commerce company contacted us for help with their SEO. Their website sells super absorbent hair towels. The same material is also available for sale as headbands, pillowcases, and shower caps.

Before contacting our amazing team, this client had established its website in 2015 and had seen some moderate visitor growth. The issue was that they couldn’t go over 3,000 monthly visits.

More online traffic equals more people looking at inventory. So we were aware that this company wanted to improve its online sales. But first, we had to enhance their SEO so that more people would visit their e-commerce business.

Our team started by conducting a comprehensive SEO audit of their site. This essential step is something we do with every Managed SEO client.

The SEO Audit

We needed to understand what was happening with their traffic, keywords, and backlinks before driving traffic to their site.

The audit revealed that the company’s traffic was flat. They would have an occasional rise, but it would be followed by a fall. This seesaw pattern had been going on for at least a year before they began working with us.

When they signed up for managed SEO in November 2019, their web traffic averaged around 2,000 visits per month. Furthermore, they only ranked for 1,650 keywords and had 170 referring domains (the number of external websites linking to them).

Our SEO team understood that to assist the client; we would need to increase their search ranking by optimizing their keywords and getting more backlinks. So the first step was to identify the “easy win” keywords.

Finding “Easy Wins” Through Keyword Research

What exactly are “easy win” keywords?

According to Snap, these are keywords that a client is already ranking for in places 4-30. With a few adjustments, these keywords can be incorporated into the client’s website and boost their ranking. It’s a quick and easy way to help them right out of the gate.

This client was discovered to be ranking for approximately 6,000 “easy win” keywords in the United States alone. They also had a large number of consumers in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

After finding all of these keywords, we looked for “easy win” terms with a large search traffic. For example, the term “hair bands” was ranked seventh yet had 14,000 searches each month.

Another example would be “satin vs. silk”. It was ranked third and had a search volume of 4,400.

How can we get these keywords to work for a client? Our writing staff may include these keywords into your web copy, blogs, or other ranking material after determining what they are.

Competitive Gap Analysis

It’s around this point in the process when we start crafting our SEO strategy.

We will do a competitive gap analysis as part of our marketing research. The goal is to learn what the client’s top competitors are doing and how we can incorporate their working strategies into our plan.

The competitive gap analysis involves keywords. Of course, not everything a competitor does is important to our customer, but we want to make sure we’re not passing on any possibilities.

Our client had 43 online competitors we had discovered. Some of their competitors were highly similar to them, while the others may have had a few things in their catalogue that were comparable.

For this analysis, we looked at their No. 1 competitor. While they both shared approximately 800 keywords, the competitor ranked for an additional 3,638 unique keywords.

These are keywords that our client wasn’t ranking for. So as a result, our SEO team sifted through this list and found keywords that could work for them.

The SEO Campaign

This e-commerce business began utilizing us for content syndication from the outset. We persuaded them to sign up for Snap Managed SEO, our fully-managed SEO service, a month later.

Clients that utilize Snap Managed SEO not only get access to all Snap products for a single payment, but they also have the option of automating their marketing.

Our team of experts handles everything so that the business owners may focus on growing their operations. Clients may be as involved or not as involved as they like, and they receive frequent analytics data.

Without Snap Managed SEO, each SEO product must be purchased separately, and clients may not have access to all of the tools they may need to do extensive work like us.

We discussed this with the client and determined that it was preferable to concentrate on content and acquiring more backlinks.

The following are the Snap products we used for their campaign:

  • Snap Blogger Outreach
  • Snap Blogger
  • Snap Boost
  • Snap Syndication

Our Blogger Outreach service enables a client to include a backlink in a blog written on a high-authority website linked with Snap SEO. The Boost package also aids in the acquisition of more backlinks from high-authority domains. These kinds of links are crucial for ranking.

We supplemented the client’s content with a number of SEO-optimized blogs created with our Blogger product.

Finally, our Syndication product is an excellent distributor of important content to more than 100 high-authority news sites. Clients that utilize this product frequently obtain media publicity, which may be used as social proof on their websites.

Throughout 2020, the Snap machine began spinning, and we were pleased to observe the incredible development this e-commerce firm made as a result of our strategy.

Result

Let’s start with a look at the client’s traffic. We already discussed how they never appeared to acquire momentum. However, after a year of working with a Snap Managed SEO plan, their traffic increased to roughly 10,000 visitors per month.

Our team significantly enhanced their traffic by optimizing their keywords and providing more high-quality, industry-relevant content.

We boosted their amount of organic keywords from 1,650 to 14,254 today, as seen below. That’s a rise of 764% in keywords.

How we helped a client increase their keywords.

Many of these new ranking keywords were among the “easy wins” we incorporated into their strategy. Others were the outcome of our comprehensive SEO approach. You can also notice that their ranks in positions 1-3 have more than doubled.

The next component of our plan was to increase the number of backlinks. That is why, throughout the campaign, we deployed Snap Guess Post and Snap Boost.

Earlier, we stated that the customer had 170 referring domains before they began working with us. Over the next year, the number of websites linked to our customer increased dramatically, and they now have over 400 referring domains.

Backlinks are often regarded as the most efficient technique to improve SEO ranking.

We knew this campaign was effective once we saw the number of high-authority sites linking to our client.

Conclusion

Every client is unique, as is every SEO campaign. In this scenario, we collaborated with the client and concluded that focusing on content and link development would be the best course of action.

Fortunately, the client enrolled in Snap Managed SEO, which provided their campaign manager with access to all of our products at once. So if the client required seo copywriting or a press release, for example, we would be able to access such resources to keep their campaign on schedule rapidly.

It is common for more than one tool to be required to get a company’s SEO up and running.

From not knowing a lot about ranking on Google, I eventually found Josh and his team. They were so patient with me and they taught me everything that was needed to boost my online marketing. I had shopped a lot of other online marketing companies and SNAP was easily the most responsive and knowledgeable. After a couple months my website went from being not visible to consistently ranking on the first and second page of Google depending on the keywords… Thankful I made the right choice, I will definitely stick with Josh and his team into the future.
